Description
1963 Precision Bass Natural Item Description
Here is a 1963 Precision Bass which has seen its share of modifications and upkeep done to it over the years. The body and neck are original to each other, and the neck date on this one is stamped August of 1963. The finish was candy apple red at some point, evidence of which can be seen in the neck pocket. THe bass has been stripped of any color and routed for an added Jazz Bass pickup, with the electronics inside the guard (as well as the pickguard) changed and routed to accomodate the second volume control. The fretboard on this bass has been refretted and planed – you can see how little of the last fretboard dot inlay is left. Lastly, there’s a brass nut that’s installed. It’s a fun looking (and playing) players-grade early ’60s P-Bass that’s ready to go for years to come!
